Who is Terry Waldorf? This is what you have been waiting for, a bio on one of the most talented photographers on Sanibel and Captiva Island.

Let see he is a guy that lives and works on Sanibel Island. Terry goes to work almost every day for the City of Sanibel, cleaning and maintaining the public beaches and parking lots.

He moved from Minnesota in 2004 just in time to ride out his first hurricane a little fellow named Charlie. In 2005 he moved to Sanibel Island and began working for the City of Sanibel. He started with the police department and moved to the public works department to get outdoors and to the waters edge every day. He survived a bout with cancer back in 2006 and learned life is too short to sweat the small stuff. It also affords him opportunity to see the beautiful nature and wildlife that lives on or near the beach.

One day last year he thought to start taking a camera with him to record the wonderful sights of nature that he sees every day. He loves to see the sunrise every morning and rarely see a sunset because he works so early in the morning. He fell in love with taking photographs and soon upgraded to a digital SLR camera with a zoom to catch the birds that live or visit here. He met up with the Sandy from SanibelCaptivaDaily.com and started sending in some shots to share what he sees every day. He does the opposite of the “Sanibel Stoop” to keep an eye for birds flying by.

You can find him with camera in tow on the beaches every day if its not raining. He also has it with him on walks with his dog Greta down Island Inn Road. He says “I love to walk the beaches picking up litter in the morning. I get to listen to the surf and see some wonderful things. There is always something to see that just makes you love this island. I talk to everyone on my way with bucket in hand sometimes they think I am shelling.” He does love this place and says he will never be jaded its new every day.
