Update - Fishing Sanibel Island “START” at the Bait Box - The 15th Annual Esperanza Woodring Castnet Rodeo
Fishing, Outdoor Activities, SanibelThe Islands of Sanibel and Captiva offer up some of the best fishing around Southwest Florida
Business, Captiva, Fishing, Retail, Sanibel, Sports|
On Friday October 3rd we were lucky enough to ride along with Capt Whitney Jones and Frank Lawrence to see what the waters of Sanibel and Captiva had to offer us. We got to the dock and headed out into the Gulf of Mexico to one the many fishing hot spots that Capt Whitney frequently takes his guests to. With the first cast Frank reeled in a decent sized spotted seatrout. The fishing only got better from there with all three of us able to bring in a handful of ladyfish, spotted seatrout and even the occasional unwanted catfish. Capt Whitney Jones is available for half and full day charters. For more information contact Capt Whitney Jones: (239)-410-8665. Capt Whitney’s custom rod and reel setups are available at The Bait Box (239)-472-0618. Spending the day at ‘Tween Waters Inn & Marina for the Crusher/Sheik Invitational and getting the story behind the team and how they came together made for an awesome day! Fishing, eating, drinking and having fun was what the day was about. The team was originally titled SHEIK but a few years ago Crusher, one of the members and also a former Sanibel local, unfortunately had gotten severely ill and the team came very close to losing him. After a complete 180 turn around they honored him by adding his name to the team title! The boys were very successful in the tournament and came in with the biggest snook! GOOD JOB TODAY BOY’S!! We love and miss you Sugar Ray!! (Photos by Walter Danielewski III) |
