A breezy evening set the stage for the SCCF Welcome Back Wine Tasting Fundraiser.  Catering was by Leslie Adams, and an assortment of 6 wines from New Zealand, California, Argentina, Australia, South Africa, and Tasmania.  This is the foundation’s 41st anniversary, no better way to kick off the season than with a wine tasting featuring “critters” on the bottle label or in the name!  Click here for more pictures.

Artist Myra Roberts and auctioneer Jean Baer

Artist Myra Roberts and auctioneer Jean Baer

Lily & Co. hosted a fundraiser with proceeds going to the Cultural Heritage Center of the Islands.  So much to see and purchase, from artwork to jewels, there was something for every taste.  The event raised approximently $15,000.  Some of the artists included Dayrll Portoff, Luc Century, and Myra Roberts to mention a few.  A big Thank you from co-owners Karen Bell and Dan Schuyler to everyone who gave donations, and all who supported the fundraiser.  A special thanks goes out to auctioneer Jean Baer for doing such a great job, Richard Johnson from Bailey’s for the wonderful catering, Yvonne Hill the Culture Center coordinator, and the Gavin/Walker family.  Click here to see more pictures.

Sanibel Bird watching takes on a new twist

Outdoor Activities, Sanibel

Look who I met today! Norman, the female parrot. She was named before she was gendered. Norman is 20 years young and is seen all over the islands with her favorite friend, owner Les. Les insisted that she and I meet with our famous branding “pink and green”. She didn’t have to dress for the occasion. She is a real natural with a huge vocabulary.  This beautiful Yellow Naped Amazon can be seen doing her daily errands around the island. If you run into her and Les, tell them we said “HELLO” bwaackk…
