Fresh Florida Citrus, Honey Tangerines, Sun Harvest Citrus

I just received a phone call from my friends that they received a gift package I ordered for them just the other day. I sent them Honey Tangerines, from Sun Harvest Citrus and they loved them! My friends live in New York and the weather is still pretty cold, so I thought it would be a fun surprise to send them some fresh Florida Honey Tangerines (these Tangerines are soooo good and are only in season for Feb. and Mar.). I recommend these citrus fruits to any who is looking for a great gift idea!

Sanibel & Captiva’s 5 Year Anniversary of Hurricane Charley

We asked a couple of people who stayed on Sanibel & Captiva Island during Hurricane Charley what it was like for the 5 Year Anniversary. Sanibel Captiva Entertainment is at the Mucky Duck Restaurant. What a great place to see a wonderful Sanibel Capitva sunset, meet new people and have great food! We met families from all over. The Rademachers from RI, Klukkens from Minn, Teeles from Chicago, Stock family from Tampa, Sellergrens from Illinois and a big hello from the Motley Crew “wish you were here, Sanibel Captiva is awesome!”.

Sanibel Sunset. As another day ends on the islands. The boaters watch as the moon gets spectacular lighting from sunset. Temperature today Mid 80’s……Ahhh This is the life! Enjoy. Send your pictures to us.

On the way home from a long day of reporting on Sanibel Island I stopped on the causeway to snap a few pictures of this beautiful sunset. In the late afternoon some rain clouds rolled over the island but once they passed this is the site they left behind for sunset.

Sanibel Island and the West Wind Inn made for a great weekend getaway for Vera & Juergen. They traveled all the way from Germany to experience the sun and fun of Sanibel Island.

In spite of Tropical Storm Fay, Sanibel-Captiva Businesses opened with a surprising amount of business.  Both visitors and locals were very upbeat and enjoying the after storm activities. We found people biking, surfing, eating, shopping, working, playing on the beach, shelling and much more. Yes, Sanibel-Captiva survived the tropical storm and is still paradise to many.

Chief Of Police Bill Tomlinson

Sunday August 17th, 2008 Sanibel City Council convened to have a meeting to discuss preparation for Tropical Storm Fay. As of now Sanibel remains under  a “Hurricane Watch” as issued by the National Weather Service.
